Reset the ratchet mechanism by opening the handles until the pin reaches the open mark, the blade will suddenly flick open.3. Place the branch to be cut in the jaws of the lopper and close the blade to the inner mark.4. Open the handles again but do not go past the outer mark, then close to the inner mark. Repeat until the branch is completely cut.
