These small-diaphragm ‘pencil’ condenser mics are ideally suited for stereo recording of solo or ensemble instruments, and sound incredible on acoustic guitar and other strummed instruments, piano, strings, wind, brass, drumkit, choirs and backing vocals. They also sound fantastic when used as overheads or for room miking, capturing all the natural reverb of whatever space you’re recording in.
Thanks to their three-stage filter and pad controls, to help reduce low-frequency rumble and deal with powerful sources, the STC-1S are supremely versatile. They are supplied with a stereo mounting bar to aid perfect positioning, or they can be used further apart as a spaced or ‘wide’ pair, or can of course be used singly to direct-mic solo instruments or percussion.
The Sontronics STC-1S become even more flexible when used with the optional OMNI or HYPER capsules (not included but available separately).
