you need for lasting repairs to your vinyl products such as pools, hot tubs, inflatables, waterbeds and many others. The kit contains a 30ml tube of glue and a 14cm by 58cm vinyl patch. The patch should be cut to size and the corners rounded for all punctures and repairs. A 58 cm strip is enough for a lot of repairs. The glue is more than enough for the patch. INSTRUCTIONS. 1. Clean all surfaces to be repaired using a vinyl surface cleaner or other gentle alcohol based cleaner. 2 Cut the patch larger than the area to be repaired. Cut the corners round to prevent peeling at a later stage. 3. Practice applying to patch to a flat surface such as a box. When glue is applied to a patch the patch will react and loose firmness – it will “wilt”. Try this with one or 2 small patches before attempting the actual repair. 4. Apply the adhesive to the patch. smooth the glue out using the dauber making sure all areas are evenly covered including the edges. 5. Apply the patch to the damaged area, smooth out any air bubbles. If possible apply a flat weight. A full bonded strength will be achieved after 24 hours. If applying underwater then fold the patch in 2 on itself and then unfold onto the underwater repair. Smooth out air and water bubbles, if possible apply a weight and leave for 24 hours. We have tried these kits on a large number of products. If the patch is glued to a proper smooth clean vinyl surface then the patch is almost melted onto the damaged area and is very difficult to get off. If the surface is not clean or for example nylon based then the patch will not have so much hold. For quick repairs 4 oval 7cm clear patches are included together with a clear strip ( on yellow backing paper ) 7.5cm by 18cm. The instructions are on the yellow backing paper. The strength of these extra patches is good but not as long lasting as the main patch bonded on with the vinyl glue. One big advantage of these patches is that they are strong fast and simple.
