France is a popular place to drive to with millions of tourists visiting by car each year. Yet there are strict regulations on what equipment you need to carry in your car when you do drive to France. (Since July 2012 drivers in France have been required to carry a self-test breathalyser with enforcement fines planned for 1st November 2012, but this was subsequently postponed to 1st March 2013. The French government have since announced that the implimentation of the fine for drivers not carrying a breathalyser has been postponed indefinitely. So you are still required to carry a breathalyser when driving in France but there is no current legislation demanding a fine for non-compliance.
*All breathalysers have an expiry date which typically ranges from 12 to 18 months from date of purchase.
