The compact Espresso Maker 9090 was designed by Richard Sapper for Alessi in the year 1979 and is a real design classic. The 9090 Espresso Maker was the first kitchen appliance produced by Alessi since the 1930s. Richard Sapper designed an easy to use Espresso Maker, whose elegant shape is wonderfully suited for serving coffee. The body is made of polished stainless steel and available in different sizes from 1 to 10 cups – please see the “available product types” for details. Unique is the construction of the Espresso Maker: The handle is directly connected to the water tank. By tilting the hinge the Alessi Espresso Maker can be filled. For its innovative design the 9090 Espresso Maker was awarded the “Compasso d’Oro” in the year 1979. Additionally, the Espresso Maker was the first design object by Alessi to be included in the permanent exhibition of the MoMA in New York!
