The doomed cover with wooden knob is part of the project “Dressed in wood”, designed by Marcel Wanders. It can be used with either the cheese board or the cake stand from the same collection, which also consists of an individual breakfast board, a serving board, two trays and a big round centrepiece. A natural material, beech wood, shaped by artisans, is characterised by knots and veins that make each piece slightly unique. “Dressed in wood” is hand crafted by artisans in Valle Strona, where the production of wooden artifacts is documented as far back as the 16th century. The valley drops down to Lake Orta, where Alessi is headquartered.
