The optical distribution by means of fibre optic or fibreglass offers many advantages compared to conventional technologies. Damping is hardly present in the cable, so that miles of cable paths without amplifier are possible. On longer cable paths, the optical distribution is therefore very attractive. Optical cables are extremely space-saving and have a diameter of only 3 mm. No electromagnetic interference in the cable can be absorbed and no overvoltage can be transmitted. This cable can be used as an adapter between the two plug types LC/UPC and SC/APC and fits Axing SFP+ transceivers (LC/UPC connection). As fibreglass cable with SMF 9/125µm complies with the standard G652D and has a steel reinforcement against mechanical damage. The minimum bending radius is 40mm.
