Blagdon Pond Balance safely and gradually adjusts the nutrient availability for blanketweed and so reduces its ability to survive.  It also promotes plant growth, achieving a balance which effectively clears blanket weed. Pond Balance solves your blanket weed problems without the effort involved in manual removal or the inherent risk of killing your valuable plants and fish which is associated with pond algaecides. Unlike algicides, Pond Balance does not damage plants or fish but works by making pond conditions unsuitable for blanket weed growth. The product works by making calcium unavailable for use in blanketweed’s growth.  The net effect of this is that over the thirty days of the treatment, the blanketweed is literally starved out of existence, initially becoming weaker, falling apart and eventually disintegrating completely long-term effectiveness, use of Pond Balance should begin from early Spring and continue regularly during the warmer Summer months best and consistent results this treatment should begin with a repeated dose, once every 10 days for the first month, and once per month thereafter, or more frequently if required a bucket of warm water add one level measure (13-15g) of Pond Balance for every 360 litres (80 gals) of water in your pond e.g. for a pond volume of 1800 litres, add 5 level measures to the bucket. Stir well and allow to dissolveribute the solution as evenly as possible over the surface of the pond. After dosing, the pond may appear milky, the cloudiness will disappear within a few days. This is most likely in hard water areas.
