An ADSL microfilter is used to separate the phone line connection from the internet connection reducing interference and dropouts or even connection problems. For each telephone or device that uses a phone line, a microfilter must be plugged into that device. The phone micro filter is designed to ensure optimal pairing of the phone with the line when using an ADSL modem on it. It provides filtering of the high frequency signal, and in addition protects the phone from interference and dangerous voltage surges. Each telephone set, if a parallel connection of telephone sets is used, must be connected to the line through its telephone filter. The electrical characteristics of the filter for the phone are such that they can be used to reduce the level of high-frequency noise in order to improve the quality of modem communications on ordinary switched telephone lines. In this case, the modem is connected to the PHONE jack of the filter, and the LINE connector is connected to the telephone line parallel to the subscriber’s telephones.
