Caithness glass chasing rainbows wonderful world paperweight crafting method: first sand is melted onto the first layer of glass before being encased in clear glass from the furnace. The rainbow coloured glass canes are melted onto the clear glass and folded round towards the base. A metal bar is plunged into one side of the rainbow creating a hole. When the next layer of clear glass is taken from the furnace the hole fills with air, creating the bubble.
