Festive family comedy starring Whoopi Goldberg and Nigel Hawthorne. Lucy Cullins (Goldberg) is a tough, career-driven TV producer who works on a home shopping channel – and is unmoved by the spirit of Christmas or, indeed, any other holiday. However, when she auditions Nick (Hawthorne) for a role as Santa Claus in a TV ad, she reluctantly finds herself swept away on the ultimate Christmas adventure: Nick turns out to be the real Santa Claus, and is looking for a replacement as he nears the end of his 200-year contract – and he has set his sights on Lucy… The film boasts several original songs by country and western star Garth Brooks.
