Usually used on the left hand side for hot water tap. Anti-clockwise open one: Turning anti-clockwise for tap on, turning clockwise for tap off. Usually used on the right hand side for cold water tap. Do ensure you know where that drip is coming from before you buy! Usually, a tap that drips from the end of its spout will need replacement valves. DRIPPING or LEAKING from around the tap’s body indicates that new seals are needed.
