THE PROCESS: The sample procedure for our test is quick and easy, taking only 15 minutes to complete.
We provide a convenient home finger prick test kit, which we’ll send you. This test kit allows you to perform a quick and (almost!) painless finger-prick blood collection without an appointment. Our analysers are calibrated for capillary and venous sample types, ensuring accurate and reliable results for your finger prick sample. This flexibility provides a comfortable testing experience and lets you receive results quickly and reliably.
Post the kit to us (or drop it off at drop-off locations) using the courier labels provided (DPD/Royal Mail), and it will be with us the next day, ready for the lab to work on it.
Once that happens, you should have results on the same day. Track your biomarkers in your Health Dashboard, compare them to reference ranges and monitor changes over time.
ABOUT THE TEST: Cholesterol is essential to every cell in our body. Too much cholesterol in our bloodstream can lead to cardiovascular disease, including heart attacks and strokes.
Cholesterol can be divided into ‘good’ cholesterol (HDL cholesterol), which helps lower your cardiovascular risk and ‘bad’ cholesterol (LDL or non-HDL cholesterol), which causes a problem. This test checks for the all-important total cholesterol/HDL ratio for accurately assessing your risks. You can use this data along with several other parameters, such as blood pressure, age, sex and family history, and put it into the QRisk calculator, which estimates your risk of heart attacks and strokes in the next ten years.
