“The Tomorrow’s Kitchen Barbecue Cooler/Cooling Plate is an invaluable appliance for keeping food fresh prior to cooking/eating without the need for a refrigerator. The item incorporates the same cooling technology as Vacu Vin’s award-winning Rapid Ice Wine/Champagne Coolers that are now used in millions of households throughout the world. Although it is primarily designed for meat, poultry and fish, the device can also be used for salad, cheese, cakes and many other foods that require low temperatures. The removable cooling element contains 12 pockets of specifically-formulated, non-toxic gel that expand when placed in a freezer for 6 hours or more. It is then placed underneath the stainless steel plate that accommodates the food. Multiple polyester foil layers and foam pouches within the cooling element allow the reduced temperature to be maintained for hours. The transparent lid ensures that the appliance is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use by shielding food from insects/external elements. The Food Cooler/Cooling Plate is ideal for barbecues, picnics, buffets, parties and other occasions when a refrigerator isn’t immediately available. It is also highly effective for defrosting a vast array of foods over a prolonged period because of the controlled environment that it provides (without inserting the cooling element). Once used, simply return the cooling element to the freezer for subsequent re-application to the plate. The device is highly robust and is built to tolerate regular and prolonged usage. ”
