The joint cutter is a newly developed and TÜV-approved two-blade tool for thorough removal of flexible sealant masses, such as silicone, acrylic or sealant adhesive from connection, movement and expansion joints. It is used when removing these sealant joints from an angle of approx. 90° The joint cutter is used on hard surfaces such as ceramics, marble, granite and tiles, i.e. materials that prevent the penetration of the blade cutting. For other materials such as plastics of all types (e.g. windows and doors), especially acrylic shower or acrylic baths or wooden products, the joint cutter is not used. The softer the material, the stronger the blades penetrate the material through the existing geometry of the grout cutter and a forward movement is no longer possible. If the cutting process continues, damage to the materials is the result. Thanks to the joint cutter with its 2 under approx. 90° joined blades, it is possible to remove silicone joints optimally and thoroughly. The blades are completely applied to the solid side material (e.g. tiles). Now the sealant joint is cut out with a forward movement. The joint cutter must be at an angle of approx. 45°. Quick or uncontrolled movements (risk of slipping) when cutting out the sealant must be avoided for safety reasons. The blades are clamped symmetrically in the tool and can be used again by turning around their own axis.
