$73.99

  • 2 tungstens of 1.0x175mm; 2 tungstens of 1.6x175mm; 2 tungstens of 2.0x175mm; 2 tungstens of 2.4x175mm; 2 tungstens of 3.2x175mm; Material: 98.5% Tungsten and about 1.5% Lanthanum Oxide (WL15).
  • Suitable for stainless steel, titanium, nickel alloy and carbon steel in direct current (DC) and in welding in alternating current (AC) for aluminum alloys, manganese …
  • Lanthanum electrodes are popular because of the relative ease of arc impact, non-radioactive, and lower required amperage.
  • Engineered to exact specifications, these durable electrodes allow you to keep counting during the toughest welds for professional welding
  • Provides excellent arc formation, arc stability and reignition, and is less prone to tip wear. The operation can be done with DC and AC

Tungsten 1.5% Lanthanum Lanthanum is a very popular material and the one that has been used the most to replace Thorium. The 1.5% content (compared to 2% thorium) was chosen by two of the largest manufacturers as the optimal amount based on scientific studies that showed that it reflects as closely as possible the conductivity characteristics of 2% tungsten. Thorium. Therefore, welders were generally able to replace the radioactive material of 2% Thorium with this tungsten and did not have to make any changes to the welding processes. In addition, a major manufacturer conducted an independent study of this material at the 1998 AWS show in Detroit, Michigan. This study concluded that the 2% Thorium, 2% Cerium, and 1.5% Lanthanum electrodes were compared by observing limb erosion after 300 starts of C.C. at 70 and 150 amps. In both cases, 1.5% tungsten Lanthanum showed the least amount of tip erosion. This decrease in erosion is due to the fact that Lanthanum is less dense than Thorium, so an electrode at 1.5% Lanthanum contains 15% more oxide than one at 2% Thorium. This aids in arc ignition and stability as well as tip longevity thanks to the additional volume of oxide that keeps the tip cool. This material is also suitable for AC welding. Therefore, if you are looking to optimize welding, this is an excellent electrode to consider. Notes: 1. Monitors are not calibrated the same, the color of the item shown in the photos may show slightly different from the real object. Please take the real one as standard. 2.
