Pure Tungsten (Green) The pure tungsten compound, whose melting point is approximately 3400 ° C, requires that the preparation of the electrode end be rounded. It is mainly used with alternating current in welding aluminum and its alloys, since with alternating current the pure tungsten electrodes keep the electrode tip in good condition and this allows good arc stability. They can be used with direct current, but pure tungsten electrodes do not have the ease of priming or the stability of direct current thorium electrodes. Tungsten is the metal that makes up the filament of old incandescent lamps (the common focus) and has the characteristic of melting at a very high temperature (3410ºC). This quality allows the tip of the electrode to “survive” the welding process, since iron, for example, melts at 1500ºC. Notes: 1. Monitors are not calibrated the same, the color of the item shown in the photos may show slightly different from the real object. Please take the real one as standard. 2. Please allow 1-3mm error due to manual measurement. Thanks for your understanding.
