The Saracen gearbox is easily identified by a coloured dot on the underside of the black plate. If the dot is blue you need a left hand gearbox; if the dot is red you will need a right hand gearbox. If you are unfortunate enough to have no colour coding on your old gearbox then you need to look at your window handle from the inside – if it points to the left, you need a left hand gearbox, conversely if it points to the right then a right hand gearbox is required.
