This HDMI audio extractor sends the sound of an Ultra HD HDMI signal via HDMI to an AV receiver, soundbar or headphones. This adapter is ideal for further using an older sound system if you want to use 4K or HDR video on the video projector or TV. 7.1 sound formats such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X are supported. A stereo sound can be distributed across all outputs at the same time, Dolby Digital or DTS only on the optical output and via HDMI, and higher audio formats such as Dolby Digital Plus, True HD, MAT and DTS-HD only via HDMI. The input signal is transmitted to the TV output without loss. Data rates up to 18 Gbps are supported. This corresponds to Ultra HD 2160p 60Hz with HDR or Dolby Vision or 1440p 120Hz. If you want to use the jack socket, set the EDID mode switch to “2.0”. Choose stereo or the stereo sound track if you hear nothing. If you want to use the optical connector, it is best to select EDID mode “5.1”. Choose – if you hear nothing – from your player Dolby Digital Bitstream, not Dolby Digital Plus, not Automatic, not the “best available sound”. DTS 5.1 sound can also be transferred. HDMI supports all audio formats. Select EDID mode “7.1” to transfer the best audio format available, e.g. Dolby Atmos. The internal TV speakers may remain silent. The HDMI HD Audio Extractor has no on/off switch and does not require a remote control. The device can also be powered by a USB device socket instead of via the power supply. This will start the HDMI HD audio extractor together with the TV or PC, for example. An adapter cable DC hollow plug to USB is included. At the HDMI only audio output, a downscaler is automatically activated if the player emits an Ultra HD signal (2160p). The original 2160p 50/60Hz signal is scaled here to 1080p 50/60Hz. This makes the signal compatible with an older AV receiver with HDMI 1.3 interface. The signal on the HDMI TV output is not affected. Note: 1440p input signal is not scaled. This format cannot be processed by all AV receivers.
