Assembly: The lamp contains 3 pieces; base, bottle and cap. The base is plugged into the mains and the bulb is switched on with the switch./li> The bottle is placed on top of the base with the part containing the wax on top of the bulb. The cap is placed on the neck of the bottle. Allow to heat until the wax starts to flow. Do not switch off during the first ignition until the wax is fully flowing, as switching off can result in some of the wax staying on the top and then having a hard time heating up on subsequent ignitions.
Conditions of use
During the first ignition the lava takes between 3-5 hours to heat up and to be able to see the wax flow, in subsequent uses the lava takes less time.
The time it takes to start flowing depends on the ambient temperature, the optimum use is in a room between 22 and 25 ºC.
Do not touch any part of the lava lamp while it is switched on or just switched off. The lamp takes very high temperatures to operate.

Yes, all lava lamps take a long time to heat up the first time as the wax in them has never been heated before and it takes time for it to warm up. On subsequent uses it takes less time to heat up as long as the ambient temperature is right..
