Each FlashStick note is colour coded to help you learn the gender of nouns. Feminine nouns are shown on pink notes, masculine nouns on blue notes and other word types on green notes. A free smartphone App allows you to check the pronunciation of any word. Simply hover your smartphone or tablet over any word and you will instantly see a quick pronunciation video of the word. Where will you stick yours? On the bathroom mirror? On the kitchen fridge? On the wardrobe? On your pc? Wherever you choose, FlashSticks will help you learn your foreign vocabulary quickly and effortlessly. Level 2 (Intermediate) is suitable for adult and child learners that already have a basic knowledge of Spanish (Key Stage 3-4, B1/B2 level). How did you come up with the idea for this product?
One of our founders was learning a language in Spain by handwriting words on Post-it Notes and sticking these all around his hotel room. That was the eureka moment for pre-printed foreign language Post-it Notes!
What makes your product special?
The Post-it Notes come with the free to download FlashSticks App. Scan any note and a tutor appears to help you pronounce the word. Scan any random object and the App recognises and translates it into over 40 languages.
What has been the best part of your startup experience?
Seeing FlashSticks being stuck up in classrooms, homes and offices everywhere and learners using both the notes and App to improve their language skills. Everything is designed to be simple, fun and engaging – helping everyone learn a little more each day and to keep progressing even when they don’t have as much time as they’d like.
