Volcanic soil for planted aquariums, from the mineral-rich hilly landscape of the famous Aso volcano. Fluval Stratum is the ideal substrate to stimulate the growth of aquatic plants in freshwater aquariums. The plant roots penetrate easily into the substrate and spread there. The plants thus receive many different important nutrients and can flourish magnificently. The addition of Fluval micronutrients to plants ensures that all important macro and micronutrients are available. The lightweight, porous structure of the substrate, which does not compact, is also extremely beneficial for beneficial bacteria, which can quickly settle on the huge, porous surface. This ensures the optimum water quality for plants. The properties of the Fluval Stratum help promote a neutral to slightly acidic pH. This is ideal for most plant and tropical fish species or shrimp that are normally kept in planted aquariums. Furthermore, the Fluval Stratum newborn shrimp provides the ideal retreat, so they can hide from predators until they are big enough. This extremely attractive substrate does not discolour the water and helps control organic discolouration that normally occurs when using natural driftwood. How much should I use? The substrate height should be 3-4 cm. Recommendation for the following aquarium sizes: <45 cm aquarium: 1×2 kg 45 cm aquarium: 1 x 4 kg, 60 cm aquarium: 1x 8 kg, 90 cm aquarium: 1×8 kg + 1×4 kg. Instructions: rinse the Fluval Stratum in a large strainer or similar, without aggravating the substrate to fine dust particles remove. Place the required amount of substrate in an empty aquarium. Place a plate or similar on the Fluval substrate and pour the water on it when you fill the aquarium with water so as not to disturb the substrate too much. It may take a few hours for the aquarium water to clear up again. Temporary cloudiness is not dangerous for shrimp. Caution: do not stir or mix with other gravel. When changing the water, treat the granules with care. For partial water changes with a gravel cleaner you should ensure that the substrate is not agitated too much. This substrate is unsuitable for fish that actively dig in and push it through the aquarium. It is also unsuitable for many African and Central American cichlid species, goldfish or koi. In addition, this product must not be used in seawater or brackish water aquariums. –
