At the centre of our tea ceremony set “Akai” (Japanese The elegant matcha bowl stands with its deliberately irregular shape and the wavy edge, which represents the hilly landscape of Japan. The relatively large bowl has a diameter of 12 cm and a height of 8.0 cm. With a volume of approx. 435 ml, the bowl offers enough space to make the Matcha tea nice and foamy. The process and design of the glaze vary slightly, so no other bowl is the same. Each one is unique. Included in the set is a matcha spoon “Chashaku” for optimal dosage of the matcha as well as the bamboo broom, also known as chasen, an essential accessory for the preparation of matcha tea. It has 120 bristles and allows the Matcha tea to beat with a firm and attractive foam. The broom holder made of porcelain (Japanese “Chasentate” in the same design of the matcha bowl prolongs the life of the matcha whisk in which the bristles dry quickly and especially well thanks to a uniform ventilation. After use, simply rinse the bamboo broom with lukewarm water and place the bristles facing down on the holder. The special shape of the holder ensures that the bristles are protected and keep their shape for longer.
