- Rightly regarded as a post-modern masterpiece in inner city stadium design, the Stadio Luigi Ferraris first came to my attention during Italia ’90, when the Tartan Army invaded Genova for a World Cup game between Scotland and Costa Rica.
- When Channel 4 started broadcasting live Italian football into British households soon after in the early 90’s, many of us became hooked on the spectacle – the stadiums, the fans, the players, the kits. Perhaps the most instantly recognisable kit was that of Sampdoria, who shared the Luigi Ferraris with city rivals Genoa.
- I’ve combined the two, using original detail drawings of the stadium, to create this minimalist graphic art print – a unique piece of artwork or gift for any discerning fan of Sampdoria, or Italian football in general.
