A beautiful piece, that incorporates the bark of the olive tree around the top edges. Variations in wood grain and tone make each bowl truly unique. The bowl has been naturally treated with olive oil, which nourished and protects the wood, as well as preventing stains and the absorption of any smells. On top of providing a beautiful finish, this is a chemical free, environmentally friendly way of treating wood. From the Olive Tree sells handmade olive wood products, using excess timber taken from the olive farming industry, either from branch pruning that takes place naturally to increase yield the following year, or from older trees that are no longer producing olives, and need to be replaced by new trees.
