Strip fuses – or blade fuses – essentially consist of a punched-out fuse plate strip. In addition to the open variant without jacket material, closed types with plastic insulating body or ceramic housing are also common. Due to the more solid design, these fuse types are mainly used to protect electrical systems with higher current & voltage ratings.
