The Homematic IP window and door contact is part of the Homematic IP Smart Home system and reliably monitors the opening and closing of windows/doors with a magnetic contact. In combination with a radiator thermostat, it lowers energy consumption in the home and alerts if unauthorised access via the free Homematic IP app – even on the go. The setup can be carried out flexibly via Homematic IP App (in conjunction with the Homematic IP Access Point) or via a browser-based interface (in conjunction with a central CCU2/CCU3). Alternatively, the smart window contact can also be operated without a central system: the stand-alone operation (Push-to-Pair) allows the direct programming of up to eight radiator thermostats – basic (HmIP-eTRV) for automatic lowering of the room temperature when ventilating. Through the app, the window contact can be integrated into a comprehensive smart home system and thus additionally used for security applications. The cloud solution allows flexible remote access at any time from any location. If you prefer to know the data locally on the home network, but still want to benefit from the advantages of a smart home system, you can rely on the setup via the CCU3 central unit. The power is supplied by two LR03 batteries, which can supply the sensor with power for up to four years. Both double-sided adhesive strips and matching screws are included for secure installation.
