This RS232 to RS485 passive bidirectional converter is compatible with RS-232 and 485 standards. It can convert a single-ended RS-232 signal into a balanced 485 differential signal and extend the communication distance to 1.2 kilometers. It uses a special current pump technology to take power from RS-232 signals (RTS, DTR, TXD) without the need to initialize the RS-232 interface in advance. The internal transceiver and special circuits automatically control the direction of the data flow without the need for handshake signals (such as RTS, DTR) to control. If the software works in RS-232 half-duplex mode, it can maintain the same function in 485 mode without modification. Suitable for industrial automation, access control, parking lot, monitoring system, employee attendance management, urban lighting system and other occasions.
