Also located on the flex cable are two sensors. There is a brand new proximity sensor, which is responsible for closing the screen when the phone is held close to the ear. There is also a brand new ambient light sensor which regulates screen brightness depending on outside lighting conditions. If either of these sensors is not working correctly, fitting this new flex will resolve that issue. PLEASE NOTE: If you change the ear speaker flex cable in the iPhone XS Max, the Face ID function will not longer work. This is because the Face ID is tethered to your motherboard and only the factory original cable can be paired with your mother board.
