low profile cables run much faster Cat 6 or Cat5 cables but are backwardly compatible. With a height of just over 2mm they re perfect for under carpets or floor boards.
So what s the difference between Cat 5e Cat 6 and Cat 7 cables?
There are two main factors to look at when comparing network cables. The first is the speed bandwidth and the other the frequency MHz .
The Speed determines how much data bandwidth can be sent through the cable. Cat 7 cables have a maximum speed/bandwidth of 10 000 Mbit/s but Cat 6 carries a lower 1 000Mbit/s and the cat 5e range of cables carry up to 1 000Mbit/s.
The Frequency or MHz indicates how often the signal can pass through the cable. Cat 7 cables have a very high frequency at 600Mhz but Cat 6 only has 250Mhz and Cat5e 100Mhz. Overall a Cat 7 cable will allow more bandwidth at a faster rate than the previous Cat 6 or Cat5e Cables.
Cat5e Has a speed to 1 000 Mbit/s 100mhz
Cat6 Has a speed to 1 000 Mbit/s 250mhz
Cat6a Has a speed to 10 000 Mbit/s 500mhz
Cat7 Has a speed to 10 000 Mbit/s 600mhz
FULL COPPER Shielded Cable
Our range of Flat Cat7 Cables are shielded to eliminate the chance of cross talk and interference from near by devices. The FTP Foil Twisted Pairs are made from full copper strands delivering super fast speeds to your gamin console TV PC Laptop Mac amongst other devices. Full copper cables are suitable for POE devices such as Access points WIFI Range extenders CCTV or networking switches that need to carry power via the Ethernet cable to a POE port.
Low Profile Design
Our flat range of Cat7 cables are perfect for hiding under carpets and floorboards thank to the flat 2.4mm profile.
