Komodo Fluorescent Bulb T8 Uvb 10.0, 10 Watt

The Komodo Fluorescent T8 UVB Tube provides essential UVB and UVA rays as well as normal light for reptiles. These 10% UVB tubes provide high levels of UVB, suitable for most reptile species that enjoy the sun and those active mainly during the day, such as Bearded Dragons, Mediterranean Tortoises, and many Freshwater Turtles. UVB enables the production of vitamin D3 for healthy bones and helps prevent metabolic bone disease in captive reptiles. UVA is also required by reptiles to help stimulate feeding, digestion and the immune system. The tube provides a bright white light, with excellent colour rendition to simulate their natural environment. The linear tube design helps distribute light widely & evenly in the terrarium. Use with a tube controller or ballast.
Other requirements: A fluorescent tube controller or ballast is required to hold and connect the tube within the terrarium eg. The Komodo T8 Fluorescent Ballast. Reptiles also require infrared rays for efficient thermoregulation and metabolism, which can be provided by adding a Komodo Daylight Spot Lamp, Basking Spot Lamp, Halogen Spot Lamp or a Ceramic Heat Emitter to create a suitable basking spot.
Safety: Before purchasing and installing any lighting for a reptile, ensure that the tube or lamp specification is compatible with the reptile species and the light fitting.
