A set of repair taps and coils for repairing the threads on 8 | 10mm | 12mm glow plugs on alloy cylinder heads. Laser Tools have recently introduced a new Glow Plug Thread Repair kit (part no: 5206) which solves an increasingly common problem on alloy cylinder heads on diesel engines. There are two reasons glow plug threads get damaged: cross-threading and over tightening. Fitting a new thread insert can sometimes be problematic: it can be difficult to ensure it is fitted straight and parallel to the glow plug hole; the Laser kit features components that ensure the thread for the new insert is cut straight and true. The comprehensively equipped kit is suitable for repairing threads for 8mm, 10mm (1.0 and 1.25 pitch) and 12mm glow plugs; five new inserts for each size are included (plus fitting tools), along with the appropriate thread cutters and additionally, chaser taps for finishing off and ensuring the new inserts and threads are perfect.
