Sometimes it’s important that your camera is firmly planted on the ground, but you don’t feel like lugging around a huge (and heavy!) tripod. If you regularly go out on foot with your camera, or want to take a tripod with you on a long trip, the Leofoto Ranger LS-253CM carbon tripod is the perfect choice. This small and portable travel tripod is robust, has a carrying capacity of 13 kilograms and weighs (including ball head) one kilogram. Completely folded, this tripod even fits in your backpack, so you do not need a separate bag for your tripod. The minimum working height is 14 centimeters, so you can also use this tripod low to the ground. Leofoto 100% 10-layer carbon fibre tubes have a large outer diameter combined with a super-thin viscosity. This design has led to unprecedented strength-to-weight durability ratios. Rigidity and vibration reduction are further enhanced by the unique cross-patterning of each tubes’ fibering structure. The Ranger series adopts a compact apex design, much smaller than tripods of same maximum tube and height.
Pull out the angle stop, raise the leg to the desired angle, slightly press the angle stop and it will ratchet into place and lock automatically. To induce the angle stop automatic system, pull out the angle stop completely and raise the legs to horizontal position until the angle stop engages. Move the legs to the desired position and the angle stop will ratchet automatically.
The included LH-30 ballhead is as versatile as the tripod itself. It can be rotated horizontally by 360° and vertically by 90°, has a built-in level and is adjustable with a sturdy wing nut. Because the LH-30 is only 8 inches high the center of gravity is low, which prevents vibrations. The LH-30 has a universal 1/4″ tripod screw, is CNC-machined from anodized aerospace aluminum and comes with the Arca-Swiss compatible BPL-50 quick-release plate.
