Just peel off the backing paper (please note the backing paper is quite stiff and the patch is much more flexible once this is removed), then press down the patch over the damaged area. You can use the item straightaway and the bond will strengthen over the first 24 hours. Make sure the patch is big enough to cover the damage and still have some smooth, stable surface beneath for it to bond to. Check the area is dust-free and dry but do not clean with chemicals as this can affect bonding.
