Maun 4880-160 Thin Jaws Parallel Plier 160 mm

llel plier differs hugely from a standard, scissor-action plier. Its compound box joint means its jaws always remain parallel as the tool is opened and closed. When closed, even pressure is applied along the whole length of the jaws, allowing items to be gripped and held securely at any point. An additional feature of the parallel plier is its open throat. This permits wire or rod to be fed through the throat and held securely or manipulated between the jaws.

The Thin Jaws Parallel Plier is Maun’s original problem solver adapted for working in tight spaces. This tool, the 4880-160, is designed for a larger hand than our snipe nose plier or tasks requiring greater force.
Its key distinguishing features are its thin jaws – just 3 mm wide along their entire length – for easier access where space is tight, a smooth finish to the jaws’ gripping surfaces to prevent damage to workpieces, and soft plastic grips for added comfort.
The plier is 160 mm long and has a 14 mm jaw opening and 3 mm jaw width. The useable jaw length is 42 mm.

Like all Maun tools, this plier is built to last. It is constructed with blackened steel serrated jaws that are case hardened to HRC 57 for durability. To protect against rust, its handles are zinc plated. The plier conforms to rigorous British and international standards (BS 3087-7:1996, ISO 5747:1995). It is manufactured in our factory in Nottinghamshire, England by our team of plier-making experts.
