Product description
The Japanese Temagari is the traditional green wood saw, designed to fell small trees and cut them up.
The pitch, tooth geometry and ergonomics have all been developed to excel at one task – crosscutting green wood.
The teeth are very aggressive – 4.5 – 5.5 tpi progressive pitch, with minimal rake quite a lot of slope and masses of fleam. The toothed edge is 360mm, approximately 14 inches, and the whole saw is just under 600mm. The blade is taper ground, both from teeth to spine and handle to tip, but well tensioned so it has a nice stiff springiness.
The blade is re-sharpenable with the correct file.
