A4988 Driver Introduction: A4988 is a complete micro stepper motor driver with built-in converter, easy to use. The bipolar stepper motor can operate in full step, half step, 1/4, 1/8 and 1/16 step mode, with an output command capability up to 35V and ±2A. A4988 includes a current with fixed idle time regulator which is in slow or mixed decay mode. The A4988 converter is the easy implementation key. The step input requires a pulse to advance the motor by a microstep. There are no phase sequence tables, high frequency control lines or complex programming interfaces. The A4988 interface is very suitable for situations where complex microprocessors are not available or are overloaded.
