The name MUW is an Acronym of “man unisize woman”, and as such it is the very essence of rikke & kasper salto’s new unisex watch design. Pronounced with a teutonic accent, MUW is also a play on the word “move”, because time doesn’t stand still, and constantly changing fashions are at the heart of MUW design. There are five different models of MUW watches – three wristwatches, a pendant watch and a pocket watch – with a colour-matched strap in finely-woven nylon with a velcro fastening. The MUW pendant watch is designed particularly with women in mind, while the pocket watch represents the comeback of the old-school gadget that the fashion-con- scious man will definitely make his own. You could certainly say the MUW “wears well”: in fact, the range is intended as a flexible watch concept – it can be worn on the wrist, as a pendant or as a pocket watch – so MUW adds versatile ways of accessorising the traditional watch. With its Graphical dial layout, this watch captures the essence of modern Minimalism: The crown and seconds hand provide a colour contrast with the dial, and muw’s design includes some very practical details. The 44 mm dial has a rear case with rounded edges, making the watch comfortable to wear against the skin; at the same time, The case also has moveable lugs to accommodate all wrist sizes. The salto design duo came up with this feature because, in their view, a watch is an accessory to a person’s clothes, so it should fit just as well! MUW straps are available plain or in several colour combinations. They are worked in finely-woven nylon with a velcro fastening and are easily interchangeable, with no tools required.
