EC Declaration of Conformity. NASAL OLIVE BY MARCO MALTONI is a tool that aims to make nasal washing much more practical fast and comfortable. Nasal lavage, if performed systematically and daily, prevents nasopharyngeal colonization by bacteria and respiratory viruses, which is very common both in children attending kindergarten and schools, and in adults. Nasal lavage mechanically eliminates microorganisms and cleans the nasal pits from the accumulation of stagnant mucous secretions. The stagnating mucus becomes a receptacle of germs and constitutes a physical barrier to drugs. Aerosols, nasal sprays, and drugs that unfortunately do not reach the target. First of all, the infected mucus should be eliminated. In pediatric pathologies, the use of nasal washes allows a lower use of antibiotics. Nasal lavage with saline (0.9%) should be done 1 time per day or in case of a cold up to 3 times a day. Buy in the pharmacy a bottle of saline. Vacuum the saline solution and insert the syringe into the nasal olive (as pictured) Tilt the head to the side, gently place the end of the olive to the top nostril and push the saline solution, breathing with your mouth open. Repeat washing for the opposite nostril by tilting the head to the other side. At the end of washing blow the nose.
