It is designed to take much of the weight of heavier lens off the camera’s lens mount, providing physical support for long lens, and relieving the potentially damaging pressure on the camera’s lens mount.
Composed of lightweight aluminum, the lens support has a vertically adjustable Y shaped bracket.
The Y shaped long lens support screws onto the 15mm rod clamp to the long telephone lens while shooting.

The spacing between the 15mm holes fits standard pieces of equipment.
There are thumb screw and wingnut on both of the holes, you can tighten this on both rails.
