In that samurai society, clothing was very simple, but people wanted to look unique, different, and sought to express themselves through the prints, colors and drawings of the fabric. These decorative motifs spread to kabuki theater, nishiki woodenching and many aspects of everyday life. They evoke images of a singular world of dazzling beauty, and still today, the designs that were created then seem modern to us and remain a source of passion and inspiration.
