This tea light holder is a classic example of a Drakkar from the heyday of the Vikings. These viking boats – the Drakkare – were built in such a way that the Scandinavians could quickly launch with them as if out of nowhere, attack, make rich prey and immediately retreat. The boats were particularly striking due to their particularly rich decorations with snakes and dragon heads. The Vikings used sails and oars to move around. The draft of a Drakkar’s was no more than 1.5 meters. So the Vikings got along with their long boats on all waters. And if once an inland water did not continue, then the boat was shoulder by the crew and carried to the next water arm to continue the journey there. This tea light holder is meant to commemorate the brave Vikings who penetrated uncharted territories as intrepid sailors, discovering and conquering the world.
