Select models are equipped with our own preamp and built-in tuner. The Ortega RU Series Ukuleles are constructed with a Spruce top and Sapele back and sides in satin finish. - From Sopran to Bariton Ukulele – The larger the ukulele, the bigger the fret spacing on the neck. People with small hands may find playing a Soprano Ukulele more comfortable than playing a Tenor, or Baritone Ukulele. However, this does not mean that Soprano Ukuleles are only for beginners and Concert, Tenor and Baritone Ukuleles are for advanced and professional players
- The sound varies according to size – The sound of a ukulele increases in volume and bass with the scale length of the instrument. It has to be decided individually whether the classical ukulele sound of a Soprano Ukulele or whether the bassier sound of a larger model is preferred. The Concert Ukulele still has a typical ukulele sound, that is well-balanced. The Tenor Ukulele scores with its clean sound even in the higher ranges, so it is suitable for all those who do not only use the upper part of the fretboard when playing. The Baritone Ukulele differs a bit from the smaller models in sound because the sound is similar to the sound of a guitar. The strings are tuned like the four high strings of a Concert Guitar (D-G-H-E). Conversely, the tuning of the Soprano, Concert and Tenor Ukulele is like this: G-C-E-A
- Plugged or unplugged – The instruments of the Bonfire Series are available in both acoustic and electro-acoustic versions. Would you rather use your ukulele at home for practicing or on stage? If you can’t decide yet: You can use the electro-acoustic ukuleles acoustically and you can amplify them for gigs or plug in your instrument to start recording right away. The electro-acoustic ukuleles with cutaway help you to reach the high frets better and make your instrument looks cool
