This product is a simple solution to a problem often encountered when carrying out building, renovation, sanding, or any work that creates dust: how to stop the dust getting into other rooms. The Zipped Doorway Protector consists of a 2.1m x 1.2m (7′ x 4′) sheet of durable polythene that fits standard doorways plus a self-adhesive zip. The sheet attaches to the door frame with masking tape or other tape (not included), forming a dustproof and waterproof barrier. It can be easily trimmed to size as required for the best fit using either scissors or a sharp knife. The zip is applied down the middle of the sheet and then a sharp knife is run down the middle of the zip to cut the sheet and give easy two-way access to and from the area whilst works are under way.
Handy hints:
– It’s easier to apply the zip when the sheet is laid flat on the floor than when it’s taped in place over the doorway – you can also press it on more firmly, so it sticks to the polythene sheet better and you’ll apply it straighter.
– Decide whether you want the zip to go all the way to the bottom of the sheet so it opens in an inverted V shape, or whether you prefer to tape the bottom of the sheet to the floor when it’s in place for maximum barrier protection, in which case you may not want the zip to go all the way to the bottom.
– You can always cut the zip to size if required.
