The economical, reliable T3 van was produced from 1979. The completely newly developed car with its modern, functional design was visibly more spacious than its predecessor. As the last type produced by VW with a rear engine, it was considered the last true Bulli. Depending on the version, its four-cylinder offered 50 to 112 horsepower. As usual, the Transporter appeared in various commercial vehicle versions, but also in the form of the camping bus for private purposes. In particular, the successful version of the Joker from the Gütersloh-based company Westfalia, with which VW had been cooperating successfully since the 1950s, enjoyed great popularity.
