The genre that fuelled a revolution, Rock ‘n’ Roll began with white people playing black rhythm and blues in the mid-’50s. That aspect influenced by country was labelled Rockability but it all came to be called Rock in the ’60s when it grew up. It made teenagers an acknowledged power force for the first time.
