Taxi driver Ebbe Johansson had bought his first mobile phone, he sat in his car and tried to find out where to place the earphone. At that time, mobile phones were not as practical as today. They are more likely to match suitcases weighing about 20kg (40lbs) and a receiver that was as large as a brick, so it was not so easy to find a good place in the car. After the shift, Ebbe went home to his garage and bent a piece of plastic that he attached to the dashboard. Perfect! Ebbe’s solution was soon noticed by his colleagues and he had to construct more brackets. Demand grew and Ebbe founded Brodit; a company that now employs 130 employees more than three decades later, exports to 30 countries. Over the years, the product range has been expanded and produced thousands of holders e.g. for mobile phones, GPS devices, PDAs and surf pads, but the ProClip is still the main product of Brodit.
