Urinary Tract Problems: It is common for dogs to suffer from lower urinary tract problems. These are diseases of the ureters, bladder or urethra. A major cause of urinary problems is the formation of bladder stones. If your dog is suffering from bladder stones, your vet will usually prescribe a special diet and/or medication, as well as provide care advice. Royal Canin Urinary S/O: Royal Canin has developed a method that makes it possible to determine the S/O Index of a nutritional food. The S/O Index is based on the acidity (pH) of the urine, the urine volume, and the concentration of the different components in the urine that can cause stones to form. The low S/O index of Royal Canin Urinary S/O dissolves struvite stones, and prevent both struvite and calcium oxalate stones.
