The freeride crank at XTR level.
The third generation of the SAINT – the M820 series – was developed according to the design philosophy Pure Gravity, with a clear focus on maximum speed in downhill. SHIMANO engineers have dealt with the enormous forces that act on the crank in gravity disciplines and opted for a steel axle and steel pedal threaded sleeves to take the bill. Nevertheless, the weight of the previous Saint crank has managed to be prevented again by the use of Hollowtech II technology and a lighter four-arm spider construction. The crank is available with 34, 36 or 38 teeth chainring and is compatible with various bottom bracket standards (68/73/83mm and press fit).
