This boxwood moth trap was developed and patented in collaboration with the INRA, the National Institute for Agronomic Research, as part of the “Save Buxus” project. The objective of this initiative is to develop and evaluate biocontrol solutions for the fight against Boxwood disease and pests. This patented pheromone trap attracts and traps male butterflies, allowing monitoring to determine the stage of development, the period of activity of insects and then the level of infestation. The pheromone provided in this kit is micro-encapsulated. For intensive monitoring with proven effectiveness and optimal trapping during all phases of the butterfly, the trap should be laid in early spring. Its waterless use allows for clean trapping with little maintenance. The trap can monitor up to 180 m² area representing 200 m linear of boxwood on a width of 90 cm in the case of a normal infestation. Use: Before installation: before installing the trap, it is important to inspect your boxwood to ensure that there is no infestation (search for eggs, larvae or caterpillars). If an infestation is already detected, cut the infested branches and remove insects by hand. If the infestation is too large, use a curative treatment product including Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. Kurstaki Position the trap at the beginning of the season (mid-April) before the first flight to attract and capture the first male individuals and limit mating or during the season to assess the level of infestation. In case of green caterpillars (which eat the leaves), we recommend treating with a healing insecticide based on Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. Kurstaki then reposition the trap to maintain monitoring. Pheromones are to be repeated 3 months after the first installation of the trap according to the instructions below: 1/ Open the foil bag to retrieve the syringe. Remove the cap from the syringe and then fill the 1st basket with half the gel contained in the syringe (1 ml mark). 2/ Clip the basket inside the green lid in the provided slot. 3/ Clip the green lid onto the transparent base. 4/ Fill the 2nd basket with the rest of the syringe and place it in the central hole of the green cap. 5/ Hang the trap using the included rope or place it near the boxwood to be protected, on the ground or on a stake. 6. Store the 2nd syringe in the original packaging at room temperature (maximum 25°C). 7/3 months after the installation of the trap, repeat the phases 1 to 5, without the need to clean the baskets. Precautions for use: Keep out of reach of children. At the end of the season, the trap will be removed, cleaned and kept for use next year. Prohibited reuse. Remove packaging, trap and syringes with or without product in the household bin. Batch number/Manufacturing date: see packaging Dosage: ready to use
